A SCANDINAVIAN EXPERIENCE BENEFIT DINNER FOR THE SCANDINAVIAN HERITAGE PARK

Please join us for a five-course Scandinavian Dinner at Carruthers Restaurant located in historic downtown Astoria on March 16th, 2019, to raise funds for the Scandinavian Heritage Parks Capital Campaign. Local members of the Scandinavian Community provided Chef Dan traditional Scandinavian recipes for Lingonberry Braised Pork and Balsamic Spiced Nut-Crusted Salmon. A vegetarian option will also be provided. We are sure that Chef Dan will use his creative culinary knowledge to make the dishes a fine-dining experience. Carruthers is well known for its delicious food, amazing service and hip atmosphere. Scandinavian-themed specialty cocktails well be served throughout the event. An example of one of the specialty cocktails is the “Snow Drop” named after the beloved Scandinavian delicate white flower that blooms in the early spring as it works its way through the snow. One meaning of the Snowdrop is rebirth. This meaning can be applied to the Scandinavian Heritage park. The rebirth of the People’s Park that will honor the heritage of Scandinavian immigrants that came to Astoria and how they contributed to the fabric of our community. The event begins at 5 P.M. with cocktails and finger food. Dinner and dessert will be served at 6 P.M.. Following dinner, Maryann Meyers and Mark Kujula will host an exciting Special Appeal that will also raise funds for the park. Any donations made during the Special Appeal will receive a tax receipt from the Astoria Scandinavian Heritage Association.

Tickets are $150.00 each and Carruthers will donate two-thirds of the ticket price to the park. The Astoria Scandinavian Heritage Association (ASHA) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and $105.00 dollars of the ticket cost can be used as a tax deduction.
